***1. NEXT LACPUG MEETING

lacpug Meets are once again sponsored by Blackmagic Design
for all of 2016 and we are grateful.

lacpug Meets are once again sponsored by Blackmagic Design for 2016!
And we are so very grateful.

The next lacpug Meet will be Wednesday, October 26.

It will be “Getting Real With Reality TV” Night."

We welcome Vince Rocca who will be discussing his career path to reality
television and he'll be showing tips and tricks from the reality editing toolbox.

Also joining us will be editors Shiran Amir, Renee Barron and Julie 'Bob'
Lombardi. They will all be on the very first "panel" lacpug has ever done
in 15 + years. The intention here is to cover what you need to know to be a successful editor in Reality TV. The panel will be moderated by Whitney Dunn.
There will be plenty of time for questions.

Plus Stump the Gurus and World Famous Raffle where we will be giving away
an Edit Chair and a 8TB Mercury Elite Pro Dual External Raid. Do not miss out. Register now.

***2. WHAT’S NEW ON THE WEB SITE?

“Getting Ready. Before you install Final Cut Pro X” by Richard Taylor.

Final Cut Pro X 10.3 (or what ever Apple calls the next major FCPX feature
update) should soon be here. Now is the time to prepare for a smooth transition
to it. There most likely will be some changes in the way this new version of FCP
will handle Libraries, Events and Projects. Once you update your projects to this
new version, you might not be able to open them in an older version of the app.
