***4. LAS VEGAS SUPERMEET WRAP UP.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 15th Annual Las Vegas SuperMeet is now part of history and it was so much fun and oh my what a crowd! Thanks to all who made the drive to the Rio Hotel. Can’t wait for the 2017.

About 1100 people showed up to watch an array of excellent presentations on stage and mingle with each other and with 25 software and hardware companies supporting the SuperMeet.

We had some really fun presentations from some very talented folks.

Alexis Van Hurkman wowed us and I mean wowed us us with the new features in DaVinci Resolve 12.5. What they are calling it 12.5 is anyones guess. Should be 13.

Academy Award-winning VFX Supervisor Rob Legato talked about one of the most technologically advanced films ever made – The Jungle Book. And then HP’s Jeff Wood showed us how to hook up a MBP to an HP Workstation to take advantage of the GPU.

Lewis Smithingham, producer/editor/VR filmmaker and CTO + VR Specialist at 30 Ninjas, joined OWC Digital's Chris Haeffner to discuss the capture, production and storage challenges encountered in his latest project, the upcoming VR series “Invisable," directed by Doug Liman. It is slated to appear on Gear VR and Jaunt's Android and iOS apps.

The always entertaining and crowd favorite Al Mooney from Adobe, demonstrated how the latest innovations in Premiere Pro CC continue to make it one of the market leading NLEs.

We devoted the second half of the show to VR and futurist Ted Schilowitz acted as our ring master. Ted showed how easy it is to get viewers to look where yo want them to look. He also brought up Csillia Kozma fro Nokia who showed off the Ozo Camera, John Hendicott who explained 3D audio for VR and finally Alex Gollner who showed us how to edit VR.

Just a great show and a great time.

Oh yeah, and then we handed out over $100,000 worth of valuable prizes to dozens of lucky winners as part of the World Famous Raffle. It was nuts!

So many people to thank and I know I will forget some, but what the heck, let’s try.

Thank you everyone who attended! You were so much fun and so kind and we look forward to seeing you and meeting you each year

There were a lot of people who helped us promote this event and you know who you are. Thank you!

Big time thanks must go to Blackmagic Design, Adobe, OWC, HP/Nvidia and Nokia for their generous financial and technical
support. Without them we would have been forced to hold this event under a tent in a parking lot.

We had 25 other sponsors and they all need a mention and a big hug. Each of them were crucial to the success of this event.

Atomos, B&H, CoreMelt, Digital Anarchy, EditStock, Future
Media Concepts, FxFactory, HDDISK, Red Giant, Symply, Boris FX, Imagineer, Pond5, Avid, The Foundry, KeyFlow Pro, Mettle, Atto, Premium Beat, RE:Vision Effects, Fayteq, Genarts, LumaForge, Telestream, Switcher Studio, and Wipster. Thank you all!

Thank you Chris Eschweiler for your council and hard work on our behalf.

Thank you Dean Cleary, Ben King and PF Bentley for taking pictures.

Thanks Bill Davis and thank you Philip Bloom for pulling raffle tickets.

Thanks to all of the generous volunteers who worked so hard getting everyone through the doors, and anything else we needed. Trevor Horton, Katie Berube, Debbie Zipp, Jeff Stansfield, Gregory Clarke, Charlotte McCarthy and I know I am forgetting others and please forgive me. You were all wonderful and this show would not have happened without your help.

Thanks again to you all for supporting this event. We all are privileged to have front row seats and look forward to many more years of SuperMeets all around the world.

Next SuperMeet? Amsterdam, Sept 11, 2016.
