klickTab is a great new way to buy content that's a whole lot more
convenient than browsing and buying movie-at-a-time from a website
because you buy, manage and view in the one place. No more lost
downloads!
With klickTab, you create
an account once and then subscribe to a
"channel feed". Channel feeds are used in Apple's free iTunes software, or
the equally free
(and open source) Miro. If
you're familiar with podcasts then it's the
same principle.
Once subscribed in iTunes or Miro, you can browse the previews there,
and buy the movies you want by simply clicking the "get" button. Not
only is that the simplest way to buy, but you'll know exactly where the
movie is - right there in the same software! Browse, buy and view
without ever
having to go back to the website, or enter credit card details again.
You don't even have to log back in anywhere.
Subscribing
to a feed is as easy as clicking on the klickTab graphic and choosing
which piece of software you want to use. If you're not logged in
you'll be asked for your user name (your email address) and the
password
you used to set up the account. The feed will then open in your chosen
software.
klickTab operates like an American bar tab - we hold the credit card
details and when you run up enough purchases, we'll process those to
your card. One purchase item instead of many.
And even better, the first $5 worth of content you buy with your
klickTab account is free to you as a welcome gift.
You'll need to set some settings to prevent your podcatcher software from automatically downloading items in a Channel feed.
Before subscribing to a Channel feed, open iTunes Preferences, and in the Podcasts area set "When new episodes are available" to Do nothing.
To download and preview or buy new content, click the GET button beside the name of the item in the Channel feed.
After subscribing to a Channel feed, you can set the settings for that Channel feed from the AUTO DOWNLOAD pop-up menu at the top of the window. Set the pop-up menu to OFF.
To download and preview or buy new content, click the blue down arrow button for the item in the Channel feed.
