Special guest Randy Ubillos, the chief Architect and designer of Final Cut Pro will show and tell us everything we need to know about the state of FCP 4

7:35pm HD FCP Workflow - Brett Shapiro and Gary Adcock
Brett Shapiro will be discussing the workflow for High Definition post
production editing and finishing using Final Cut Pro. Using his latest
high definition project, an independent short entitled "The Chocolate
Curse" as a real world example, Brett will examine the different
options for offline and online and explain the benefits and
shortcomings of the numerous choices available. He will also touch upon
workflow issues dealing with visual effects on the mac and the pipeline
between Final Cut Pro, Shake, Maya and other 3rd part visual effects
applications.

Now that Panasonic and others breaking the bounds of lower cost HD
cameras and production solutions, it's time for
the editing solutions to catch up. Gary will be offering up a short
Technology Preview of the future of editing and storing HD content, and
what it means for the the rest of us.

Aron Ranen of San Francisco Video Workshops
(www.dvworkshops.com)and Julie Trell of Salesforce.com
Foundation will be showing clips and talking about
their experiences making "BUS 24 The Diversity Bus".
This project took Ten inner city- "at risk Youth" and
taught them how to shoot and edit with Final Cut Pro.
The result is a provocative look at San Francisco thru
the eyes of these Young Filmmakers. The resulting
documentary was selected to open the SF Film Arts
Festival of Independent Cinema at the Roxie Theatre in
SF.

"Cold Mountain" was the first "major" motion picture to use FCP in post production. Sean Cullen, First Assistant Editor to Walter Murch will discuss the workflow techniques they employed and share 'war' stories.

9:30pm "No Regrets" - Michael Matzdorf- Show and Tell
Michael Matzdorf, editor on USA Network's TV series "MONK", will
present his 5 minute short film, "NO REGRETS", which won the audience award at
the Boston Underground Film Festival and screened at Woods Hole Film
Festival in 2003. "NO REGRETS" was filmed on a Canon GL2 with a $600
budget - Michael will discuss how he made it happen and how he uses
Final Cut at USA Network.
