Agenda (not in order and subject to change) - A Conversation with Maryann Brandon and Mary Jo Markey Both Ms. Markey and Ms. Brandon intend to show Before and After scenes they cut from the movies, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS and SUPER 8. Then we will turn ALL questions over to you the audience. This is a rare opportunity to learn the editing process from 2 of the best editors working in feature films. Moderated by Matt Fuery of Avid. About Maryann Brandon She has also edited JJ Abram’s STAR TREK (2009) and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE III (2006). She received HPA, SATURN and EDDY nominations for her work on Star Trek, Star Trek into Darkness and How to Train Your Dragon. She collaborated with JJ Abrams on ALIAS which she received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Single Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series. In addition to editing Brandon served as Director on two episodes of ALIAS, (“The Road Home” &“After Six”), and served as the Associate Producer for the fourth season. She edited the JANE AUSTEN BOOK CLUB (2007), for writer/director Robin Swicord. Her previous feature credits include, A THOUSAND ACRES, GRUMPIER OLD MEN, BORN TO BE WILD, BINGO, BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CITY and BLACK WIDOW. About Mary Jo Markey - Using Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 11 - Giles Livesy About Giles Livesy Seeking an early route into the black-art of Cinema digital colour grading he joined D.I. pioneers Digital Film Lab in 2001 working on Hollywood movies like Tombraider, Bloody Sunday and supplying looks which won the Underworld project for DFL. He was the first Colourist in UK to grade entire cinema movies digitally at 2K and one of only a handful of similar D.I. Colourists worldwide at that time. Later, after several years grading Hollywood movies and FX Sequences as Senior DI Colourist at the award winning Moving Picture Company he left London to freelance worldwide working in many major cities. Based in Asia over recent years he has worked closely with Blackmagic-Design on Resolve which is now his preferred grading system. Giles also teaches DaVinci Resolve and color grading creative techniques with classes available via his website www.digitalcolorist.com About Hasraf Dulul His latest film 'SYNC' is set in the not too distant future of 2025, where data courier robots (Syncs) transport data safely from one location to another. HaZ and his DoP Adam Batchelor have used cameras from Blackmagic Design, (Blackmagic Cinema Camera, Pocket Cinema Camera and Production Camera) and DaVinci Resolve was used to bring SYNC’s fast paced narrative to the big screen on a tiny budget, while still retaining a high end look. About Kylie Flavell She created, produced and hosted 'When Patrick Met Kylie: A Love (of Food) Story', which airs in 68 countries across NatGeo, Discovery, Traveller Channel etc in 2013. She is the producer and host of season 1 and 2 of 'When in Rome' for TLN Canada. She is the creator, host, video editor, cameraman and cook in her new series 'Amore Al Dente: Classic Italian Food Stories' and 'When in Florence with Kylie Flavell'. She is co-founder and director of Stessa Onda Productions. Kylie also creates videos, recipes and destination content for aspirational food and travel site KylieandPatrick.com and writes for publications around the world such as Qantas' Travel Insider. She received a CPIC chef's certificate in Italian cuisine from Academia Barilla in Parma, Italy. She is currently working on a recipe book, a narrative non-fiction travel memoir and a new show "The Dolce Vita Diary" set on the Amalfi Coast. About Patrick Drake London’s corporate conveyor belt quickly lost its allure and so began a secret double life. Lunchtimes hiding out with the chefs in his firm’s fine dining restaurant, evenings in the kitchen of The Cuckoo Club in Mayfair and weekends with renowned Spanish chef Jose Pizarro. After a stint at The Fat Duck in Bray he couldn’t pretend to love his day job any longer and jettisoned the rat race to pursue his love of food full time. Nowadays he is the co-founder and head chef of nationwide cook-from-scratch delivery service Hello Fresh which will deliver over 2 million meals around the UK this year. He is also the presenter of "When Patrick Met Kylie: A Love, of Food, Story" (airing in 70 countries), food writer for Women's Health and the Huffington Post and teaches thousands of people a day to cook using his Youtube channel “The 60 Second Chef”.
