- The Making of 'Pure McCartney VR' - Duncan Shepherd
Pure McCartney VR is a series of VR documentary shorts from Jaunt VR. Directed by Tony Kaye and edited by Duncan Shepherd. Duncan will provide some unique insight into the creative process of editing and compositing stereoscopic 360 video for music videos and short-form documentaries, bringing together many different elements from various sources to create unique and compelling VR video experiences. The shorts were edited using Apple Final Cut Pro X

About Duncan Shepherd
Duncan Shepherd has collaborated with world renowned Clients, Agencies and Auteurs in TV Commercials, Film, Music and Corporate videos for over three decades. His skills in all aspects of conception, design, editing and finishing have been applied to the high artistic and creative standards those fields demand. In "real life" he is a late convert to surfing, an old hand at motorcycling, and proud father of three college students. He has travelled the world for work and play, and "continues to find beauty in the banal and mundane."

- Blackmagic Design Present - The Making of 'Playing with Fire’ - Klaus B Pedersen and Simon Hall
Klaus B. Pedersen will present an exclusive preview of his documentary short featuring Katalin Konya, the three-time world amateur champion in kickboxing. He will talk in more detail about what the project meant for him as a cinematographer as well as the challenges he overcame during its production.

Bearing all the hallmarks of a challenging shoot, not only will you hear why he chose to shoot with Blackmagic’s URSA Mini, but how and why he used DaVinci Resolve to craft his creative vision. With the support of Simon Hall attendees will also see how key elements of the story were edited in DaVinci Resolve.

About Klaus B. Pedersen
Klaus B. Pedersen is a Danish cinematographer and the Creative Director behind the Swiss based creative media agency Gaffa Media. You can check out his commercial portfolio, which includes work for clients based in Denmark, Germany, Italy and the US, at www.gaffa.ch or the official Vimeo channel.

About Simon Hall
Simon Hall is a DaVinci Resolve specialist with Blackmagic Design and has extensive experience of post production workflows. Formerly a trainer with Soho Editors, Simon has taught editing, color correction and compositing with FCP, DaVinci Resolve, Fusion and more over a 10 year period. As well as training he has over 12 years’ experience as an editor and grader.

- HP and NVIDIA Present "GIANT", a virtual reality experience inspired by real events. - Milica Zec and Winslow Turner Porter III
Trapped in an active war-zone, two parents struggle to distract their young daughter by inventing a fantastical tale. Inspired by real events, this immersive virtual-reality experience, which mixes both game engine and live-action video, transports the viewer into the family's makeshift basement shelter.
Giant had its world premiere at 2016 Sundance Film Festival New Frontier, and its European premiere at Cannes Film Festival where it garnered strong emotional responses from both the general public and the press. Come learn about the making of this cinematic virtual reality experience from it's creators Milica Zec and Winslow Porter.

About Milica Zec
Milica Zec is a New York City-based film and virtual reality director, editor, and screenwriter. Her directorial debut in the virtual reality medium was a short narrative piece called, “Giant,” which premiered at Sundance Film Festival New Frontier 2016. Since its premiere, “Giant” has been lauded as a seminal expression of the potential of virtual reality as a storytelling vehicle.
Milica has been collaborating for 9-years with the performance artist Marina Abramovic on numerous projects, including MoMA’s “The Artist is Present” show, and the successful Kickstarter fundraising campaign for Marina Abramovic Institute, for which Milica directed and created ten videos.

About Winslow Turner Porter III
Winslow Turner Porter III (Producer, Co-Creator of “Giant”) is a Brooklyn based director, producer and creative technologist, specializing in virtual reality and large-scale immersive experiential installations. Winslow has always been fascinated with the possibilities of how the intersection of art and technology can elevate storytelling. Winslow started out as a feature film editor, but pivoted into art/tech after Graduating from NYU Tisch’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) in 2010. With over six years of experiential work under his belt, he has helped create interactive art experiences for Google, Delta, Diesel, Merrell and Wired, to name a few. Winslow also produced the Tribeca Film Festival Transmedia Award-winning documentary CLOUDS, among other acclaimed new media projects. Since 2015, Winslow has been a member of NEW INC, the New Museum’s art, technology and design incubator program. Giant is Winslow’s 5th virtual reality project.

is a Product Manager for video editing at Adobe. She has a background in film, multi-media performance, event production, making art with kids and applying glitter to faces. Bronwyn is a cat enthusiast, artist, and a serial costume contest winner.

About Ronny Courtens
(Belgium) is a highly respected post-production professional with nearly 40 years of experience in the European film and television industry. He has lived in Darmstadt, London, Paris and Brussels working for major national broadcasters and post-production facilities. He masters every major NLE on a professional level but since he used FCP X on a complex collaboration broadcast job at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he has become a huge proponent of this application. He is one of the world’s leading experts on FCP X, and he has helped production, post-production and broadcast companies all over Europe make the transition to the new Final Cut Pro in the past years.

His most recent credits include flagship arts and science factual for the BBC (Horizon, Imagine...), as well as programming for PBS, Discovery and Smithsonian in the USA.
