JVC
ProHD Night
It was a dark and stormy night
as we welcomed JVC
to lafcpug for a look at the 200 series of Camcorders and HD
Monitors and the Focus DRHD100
Hard Disk Recorder. Also
on the agenda was a demo of the very cool lights from "Litepanels."
Also Steve Martin
of Ripple Training showed us how to work the 3D in Motion
3. Plus, show and tells, Stump The Gurus and World
Famous Raffle.
Agenda
6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus
Join FCP Gurus Andrew
Balis, Steve
Martin and TBA as they will attempt to answer all
of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCP.
If they can't solve your problem or answer your How 2, then you
go home with a problem but you still got out of the house, so
that's not a bad thing.
7:20PM - 7:40PM - Working the 3D in
Motion 3 - Steve Martin
Steve Martin of Ripple Training
will give us a brief look on getting started with 3D in Motion
3. Ripple Training will relase a comprehensive DVD tutorial on
Motion 3's 3D Jan
25.
7:45PM - 8:05PM - 'Litepanels' - Kevin
Baxter
Litepanels
revolutionary lighting systems bring the advantages of light
emitting diode technology to professional production lighting.
Only Litepanels employ ultra-efficient LEDs to produce bright
projected soft light perfect for working in studio or on location
anywhere in the world. Runs on batteries or AC, Litepanels lights
save energy and emit zero heat.
8:10PM - 8:20PM - Open Television
Network - Philip Hodgetts
The Open
Televison Network will debut on this day, Jan 23, 2008. The
Open Television Network is open to any content owner who wants
to sell content to viewers and for any viewer who wants to choose
their own programming. It is built on technology Philip Hodgetts
and Gregory Clarke developed and named klickTab.
klickTab is the technology that makes the Open Television Network
possible: the Open Television Network is the marketplace that
makes it fair.
Content owners who use klickTab can sell audio, video and PDF
content for digital download through a standard RSS feed (a podcast
feed) that can be loaded into iTunes, Miro or compatible RSS
aggregators.
8:20PM - 8:30PM - "The Sold Project"
- Bill Darst, Rachel Sparks, Joel Nassan- Show and Tell
"Child prostitution exists
in our world." That's truth that is simply hard to believe
let alone understand. The
SOLD Project was started in reaction to this issue. Something
had to be done, but what?. What was our place in this issue?
What, if anything, can a group of 20-somethings do in a completely
unfamiliar land? The conclusion: to create awareness by documenting
our experiences with these people. And it was our hope, in doing
so, to give them a voice.
8:30PM - 8:50PM -
Break
ProMax
will be in the lobby showing off JVC camcorders and HD monitors. JVC will also be in the lobby showing off the Focus
DR-HD100 as well
as the JVC 200 series camcorders and FCP workflow. Brad Wright
of VeeScope
Live will be
in lobby complete with Green Screen.
GMAX will be there showing
off their storage solutions. Lots of other stuff will be showing
off too. The break
is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems
solved. Lots of FCP Gurus come to lafcpug meetings and this is
your chance to network and make contacts and get your problems
solved. Snacks and Beer and Wine
will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.
8:55PM - 9:45PM - JVC 200 series ProHD
Camcorders and DRHD100 Hard Disk Recorder - Stephen Milley
The West Coast JVC team will
be showcasing the 200
series HD camcorders with the DRHD100
Hard Disk Recorder which records native .mov files. Being
that it's QuickTime native, there's no transcoding required -
it's true drag-n-drop into the FCP timeline. It's the fastest
and most efficient 60p professional HD acquisition system available
today. Also the JVC
HD Monitor will be on hand for you to drool over.
They'll have JVC Professional and Focus
Enhancements personnel there to talk about and answer any
and all questions you may have. Footage will be that of Tim Dashwood,
the gentleman that did the presentation at last year's NAB
FCPUG SuperMeet showing both 24p and 60p slo-mo footage created
with Cinema Tools. Additional information can also be found on
the DVInfo.net site under the JVC
ProHD section.
