Meeting Summary Febuary. 27 , 2008       We welcomed Ricardo Silva, developer of Sugarfx to wow our eyes with their suite of motion graphic templates and effects for FCS. Plus 19 Marines and instructors  from the Wounded Marine Careers Foundation in San Diego bussed up to lafcpug to show clips of their work and talk about what they've learned in the 10 week film and media production school which trains wounded Marines for a career in media, filmmaking, sound design, editing, graphics and photojournalism. Plus, Show and Tells, FCP Tip/Tricks, Stump The Gurus and of course, World Famous Raffle. A $5.00 donation will be requested at the door. Doors open at 6PM. lafcpug meetings are open to the public. If they can't solve your problem or answer your How 2, then you go home with a problem but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing. 7:20PM - 7:35PM - FCP Tips you Should know or Need to Know- Marcelo Lewin Marcelo Lewin (The Digital Media Dude) will show beginning FCP users and remind veteran FCP users about a bunch of tips/tricks you should know. 1) Applying filters to partial clips 2) Looking for audio peaks in your sequence 3) Some cool keyboard shortcuts. 7:40PM - 8:00PM - 'SUGARfx ' - Ricardo Silva Ricardo Silva will be presenting the Sugarfx filters, effects and Motion Graphics templates for FCStudio and FCE. He will also give a demonstration on some of their plug-ins and show us the functionality inside FCP using real world examples. So what does that mean?" - Bruce Nazarian So HD DVD is dead. And Bul-ray wins. There is still no support in FCS for burning Blu-ray discs plus there is ample confusion over the license fees Will it really cost us $2500.00. Or more? DVD Guru Bruce Nazarian will put the events of the last few months in to their proper perspective, discuss where the technology IS, and what options exist. 8:30PM - 8:50PM - Break Brad Wright of VeeScope Live will be in lobby complete with Green Screen. GMAX will be there showing off their storage solutions. Lots of other stuff will be showing off too. The break is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved. Lots of FCP Gurus come to lafcpug meetings and this is your chance to network and make contacts and get your problems solved. Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby.
