6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus
Join FCP Guru Ken
Stone, and special guest gurus, Jeffery
Morse and Steve
Martin as they will attempt to answer all of your questions
and solve all of your problems concerning FCP. If they can't
solve your problem or answer your How 2, then you go home with
a problem but you still got out of the house, so that's not a
bad thing.
7:20PM - 7:40PM - Cutting to the beat

8:30PM - 8:45PM - "How'd You
Do That?" - "Weightless" - Mitchell Rose
From Mitchell:
A music video for Swami Jr., fronted by singer/songwriter Billy
Goodrum, in which at the laundromat, his mind goes on tumble-dry.
The "video,"
shot on film, uses a lot of "motion control" shots
that were damn expensive, and keying that doesn't cost a damn
thing.
8:45PM - 9:05PM -
Break
This is a chance
to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved.
Intelligent
Assistance will be in Lobby selling their latest

Fans of iPod
commercials know the song "Are you Going to
be My Girl"
by the Aussie band, Jet. You also know their other big
hit, "Cold Hard Bitch." What you may not know is that
the video of that song was cut on FCP using the Kona 2 card.
AJA's Ted Schilowitz will take
us thorugh the workflow.
9:25PM - 9:45PM - "How'd
You Do That?" - "Wylde Bunch" - Kenn Michael
From Kenn:
I have two music videos I did for the same artist - Wylde
Bunch. They're on Sony/Columbia records and their album is
on iTMS. The first video I shot and has a narrative attached
to it. The second one I edited from tons of touring/concert footage.
9:45PM - 9:55PM - "BURN: The
Documentary" - Bill Boletta - Show and Tell
Director: Bill Boletta
Director of Photography: Tim Otholt
People come to Los Angeles from all over the world with the hope
of becoming rock stars. This short documentary gives a profile
of Burn, a talented music group which hasn't yet made it big
but has tried hard for years. The film looks behind the scenes
of the music business and points up the inherent tensions that
exist in that world between idealism and pragmatism, artistry
and finance, talent and commercialism. In addition to interviews
with band members, friends of the band, and music industry professionals,
there are excerpts from live performances as well as studio rehearsal
footage. The film was shot digitally in 24p with the Panasonic
DVX-100 and edited entirely in FCP. Runtime: 10 minutes
