Meeting Summary -May 25, 2005- "All you Want to Know about DVD Studio Pro 4" Tonight we brought you another exciting evening on top of the hill. If they can't solve your problem or answer your How 2, then you go home with a problem but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing. 7:20PM - 7:40PM - "Looking under the hood of a Multiclip in FCP 5" - Steve Martin Ripple Training's Steve Martin will prep us for for working with FCP 5's new Multicam feature               7:45PM - 8:10PM - Micronet SanCube - Joe Kennedy From Joe: SANCUBE is a 2TB FireWire based shareable RAID system that is so small it can be carried around. It is tuned to the Apple/FCP world and we want everyone to know its fit in the marketplace: it's best for shops large enough to need networking and sharing, but not wanting to spend the big bucs for Fibre-Channel systems like the biggest players.           8:10 - 8:30PM - "Upgrading to FCP 5 - The Right Way" - Larry Jordan FCP Guru Larry Jordan has some tips that may make your transition to FCP 5 a lot more pleasant. 8:30PM - 8:50PM - Break This is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved. Intelligent Assistance will be in Lobby selling their latest creations, and talking about the new Pro Apps Hub. Ripple Training will be on hand to show off all their great DVD tutorials. Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.     8:55PM - 9:35PM - DVD Studio Pro 4 - "Bruce Nazarian and Brian Hoffman This ain't DVD Studio Pro 3. DVD Guru and owner of Gnome Digital Media Bruce Nazarian, and Apple's DVDSP 4 Product Manager Brian Hoffman will show you all you need to know about what's new in DVD Studio Pro 4 and there is a LOT of what's new.         9:40PM - 9:50PM - "Spec Commercials"- Anthony Dalesandro -Show and Tell Anthony Dalesandro believes that film makers who begin their careers as editors make the best directors. And it's not just because that's how he started. Nor is it because tonight he's presenting his work to a group of editors. Having made numerous award winning shorts as well as the feature film ESCAPE TO GRIZZLY MOUNTAIN, Anthony is preparing to shoot his second feature film this summer entitled DEAD NED. He is also in the process of establishing a career as a commercial director. Tonight he's showing several of his spec commercials.       9:50PM - 10:00PM - "Fronterz"- Courtney Jones - Show and Tell Before starting to produce and direct I was a Key Grip for 11 years. I worked on a lot of high profile shows including Aaliyah's last music video (the one she died on), which happened a few weeks before 9-11. After that I knew it was time for me to do my thing. I did "FronterZ" (a feature) and then went on to produce and direct a show for HBO and just finished producing and directing on a new show for VH-1 that premiere's this summer. The movie, Fronterz, is about 3 classically trained actors who are frustrated because rappers keep getting the roles they would get. So they pose as a rap trio and dupe Ted Danson, who runs a record label, into giving them a record deal and Henry Winkler, a movie studio exec, into giving them a movie deal. But, it all blows up in their faces. The movie got sold to Image Entertainment for worldwide DVD.
