Join us as we devote the most of the night to the Red Digital Cinema Camera and FCP workflow. Scheduled to appear will be Curtis Harris from ProMax who will discuss the latest and greatest RED to FCP workflow techniques and file management. Also scheduled to appear will be "Red Ninjas," Evin Grant, Brook Willard and Blair Paulsen, who will show footage and talk about using the Red as well as share the latest updates on the camera.
We will take a break from the Red Camera and allow Todd Prives to show off the just released and brand new Sapphire Plug-ins 2.0. High End plug-ins for high end footage.
Nick Jushchyshyn will be showing the Red Camera footage as it relates to Visual Effects. Many observers have been concerned about how the Red footage will key and track for larger productions. The Pixel Corps tested these two issues specifically and will show the results.
If that is not enough we still intend to have our world famous raffle and this month the prizes are huge.
6:40- 7:05PM - Stump the Gurus
Join FCP Gurus Andrew
Balis, Philip
Hodgetts and Larry Jordan
as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and
solve all of your problems concerning FCP. If they can't solve
your problem or answer your How 2, then you go home with a problem
but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.
7:10PM - 7:30PM - 'High End Plug-ins
for High End footage" - Todd Prives
Genarts Sapphire
Plug-ins 2.0 plug-ins for FCP have just been released and
include several brand new plug-ins including "Film Damage,
Light3D, BleachBypass, LensFlare, RackDefocus and many many more.
Todd Prives from Genarts will show and tell.
7:35PM - 8:00PM - 'FCP Workflow with
the RED Digital Cinema Camera - Curtis Harris
So you got a Red camera and you
shot a bunch of footage. Now what do you do? Well, you've got
options. Curtis Harris from ProMax
will show you most everything you need to kow about Red/FCP workflow
including Color, RedCine, 2K vs 4K workflow, Cineform, and more.
Also a special "rant" about backup and data management.
8:05PM - 8:30PM - 'Red and Visual
Effects' - Nick Jushchyshyn
Alex Lindsay was supposed to
present but was sidetracked by a new addition
to the family and thought it best to stay home and get acquainted.
Instead Nick Jushchyshyn, Technical Division Leader for
the PixelCorps post production teams and currently working in
the features division at Digital Domain will fill in. Nick will
be showing Red Camera footage as it relates to Visual Effects.
Many observers have been concerned about how the Red footage
will key and track for larger productions. The Pixel
Corps tested these two issues specifically and will show
the results.
8:30PM - 8:55PM -
Break
ProMax
will be in the lobby showing off their toys. The boys from Red Ninja dot net will be in the lobby answering
questions and showing off the Red Cam. Brad Wright of VeeScope
Live will be
in lobby complete with Green Screen.
Lots of other stuff will be showing off too. The break is a chance to hang out and meet and
greet and get your problems solved. Lots of FCP Gurus come to
lafcpug meetings and this is your chance to network and make
contacts and get your problems solved. Snacks
and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to
the Gallery Theater.
8:55PM - 9:55PM - "Everything
you need to know about the Red Digital Cinema Camera" -

Paulsen, who call themselves "Red
Ninjas" will show footage from their many productions
using the camera as well as discuss the latest updates and all
you should know about using the camera in your next movie. Plenty
of time for Q and A.
Ted Schilowitz, now "Leader of the Rebellion"
for Red will also be on hand to answer any and all questions.
That is if he finds himself in the correct mental timezone, having
just got back from Japan.
