We welcomed Adobe who showed off Creative Suite Production Studio for the Mac. Also Telestream showed off Episode Pro and Pipeline. Plus another round of Stump the Gurus, Show and Tells, FCP tips and tricks and World Famous Raffle. Agenda will be set about one week before meeting date.
6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus
Join FCP Gurus Andrew Balis, Kevin Monahan and Tara Veneruso as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCP. If they can't solve your problem or answer your How 2, then you go home with a problem but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.
7:20PM - 7:40PM - "FCP Tip/Trick of the Month" -Quick DVDs and Quick Podcasts, Down & Dirty of getting your project out the door -- Fast! - Tara Veneruso
Flaming Angel Film's Tara Veneruso returns to lafcpug with this month's Tip/trick of the month.
7:45PM - 8:20PM - 'Telestream' - Kevin Louden and Barbara Dehart
Kevin Louden, Telestream's Flip4Mac applications specialist, offers a real world look at video file format conversion, from filters to advanced encoder settings. Ever wonder what all those "Expert Settings" really mean? Kevin will demystify them to enable you to quickly and easily get the best looking video. He will also introduce Telestream's Episode Engine, a scalable extension to Episode Pro that can achieve faster than realtime HD encoding. Interested in improving your Final Cut Pro production workflow? Kevin will explore all the options available with the Flip4Mac MXF components. He'll also give you a sneak peak at our newest product: Pipeline hardware encoder. Pipeline enables network addressable capture and output to DV25/50 and IMX 30/40/50 in Final Cut Pro.
8:20PM - 8:50PM - Break
This is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved. ProMax will be in the lobby showing off its brand new Storage products. Lots of FCP Gurus come to lafcpug meetings and ths is your chance to network and make contacts. Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.
8:50PM - 9:40PM -"Adobe Creative Suite Production Studio"- Giles Baker
Sr. Product Manager for Premiere Pro, Giles Baker will show us everything we need to know about the brand new Creative Suite Production Studio from Adobe which includes Premiere, Encore, Audition, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator all in one box. Giles will show us how easily everything integrates into one simple workflow. He will be joined by Anita Engleman, Product Marketing Manager. Mike Kanfer (visual effects and DI guru) and Jacob Rosenburg (filmmaker, author) are also planning on attending, and will be on hand for questions
