Tonight we devote most of the evening to Motion 3 and creating FX in Final Cut Studio 2.
Scheduled to appear will be Steve Martin of Ripple Training who will pull a Motion 3 Tip/Trick out of his hat. Also, Motion Guru and author of the "Motion 3 Fast Forward" training DVD from Ripple Training, Mark Spencer, will be down to give us a tour of getting started with Motion 3.The boys from Hollywood DI, who did such a great job showing off Color at the lafcpug July meeting will return, this time to show us how to create FX using Color.
Plus another round of Stump The Gurus, Show and Tells and of course, World Famous raffle.

Martin, as they will attempt to answer all of your
questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCP. If they
can't solve your problem or answer your How 2, then you go home
with a problem but you still got out of the house, so that's
not a bad thing.
7:20PM - 7:45PM - 'Motion 3 Tips and
Tricks - Mark Spencer

Graphics and Effects in FCS2 and also host of the training
DVD Motion
3 Fast Forward from Ripple Training, Mark Spencer will show
us a number of tips and tricks you too can use in Motion 3, guaranteed
to get you started and feel comfortable using this fun and very
powerful app.
7:50PM - 8:00PM - "Alive and
Kickin" - Jimmy Shubert - Show and Tell
Alive and kickin' is the brain child of Jimmy
Shubert, who is a professional Stand Up Comedian &
Actor, and has appeared in several films (two of which were Official
Sundance selections; "Go" directed by Doug Liman
& "One Hour photo" directed by Mark Romanek) He
has made appearances on hit TV shows like The King of Queens
(recurring), Reno 911, and Entourage. This is a very theatrical
presentation of an Hour stand up comedy special
The film was directed by Mike Kallio,
Written by Jimmy Shubert & Joey O'Connell
The Executive producers are Jimmy Shubert and Jeff Apploff ,
who is the creator & executive producer of Fox's summer ratings
sensation "Don't forget the Lyrics!" Edited by
Claude Shires and produced in conjunction with No Short Shrift
and Unreel media.
8:05PM - 8:30PM - "More on Motion
3" - Steve Martin
Ripple Training's Steve Martin
will take over from Mark Spencer and take us even further into
Motion 3. More info coming soon.

Training will be selling copies of Motion
3 Fast Forward. Brad Wright of VeeScope
Live will also be in lobby complete with Green Screen. The break is a chance to hang
out and meet and greet and get your problems solved. Lots of
FCP Gurus come to lafcpug meetings and this is your chance to
network and make contacts and get your problems solved. Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the
lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.
8:55PM - 9:25PM - How to create FX
using Apple Color - Neil Smith, Yasu Tsuji, Aaron Peak
The boys from Hollywood
DI and RPM Post
will take us on an FX journey using Apple's Color. Included in
the demo will be:
ColorFX Overview
- what are ColorFX?
- why ColorFX?
- how ColorFX work
- presets and saving ColorFX
Examples of creating your own ColorFX
(these examples will include a variety of different nodes working
together to create an artistic effect)
- Stark and Gritty (Bleach Bypass)
- Diffused and Softened (Lens Diffusion)
