***1. NEXT LACPUG MEETING

lacpug Meets are once again sponsored by Blackmagic Design for all of 2015
and we are grateful.

Next lacpug meet is Wednesday, February 25, 2015.

We welcome VFX Artist Scott Squires who will show us how to do VFX on a Budget. A really small budget.

We welcome Jon Chappell from Digital Rebellion who will show off CinePlay. What is CinePlay? CinePlay is a professional Mac media player complete with timecode overlays, markers, masking, safe areas and cloud playback support.

Also we welcome Director of Production for the LA Kings Hockey Club, Aaron Brenner. Aaron just wrapped a huge project for the Kings, essentially turning 100TB of footage into a 90min doc. Here is an exerpt.

Plus Stump the Gurus and World Famous Raffle.

All in ONE NIGHT!

See you Wednesday, February 25, 2015.

Tony Mark is now the festival director of “CayFilm”, The Cayman Island’s Film Festival. The event is happening this June 18-21 and Tony wants lacpug members to have some films in there. Tony is waiving the fee for submissions so you can send him links to your short films, narratives, animations, action, underwater films and others to tony@cayfilm.com. There is also a screenplay competition happening so you can send those to him as well. They have some A list celebrities coming and several panels and workshops so if you are interested in attending, let him know as he is getting specials on hotels and possibly airlines. And who doesn’t want to spend a week in the Cayman Islands!

You can see more at:
http://www.cayfilm.com
And he would love you to like the Facebook page at:

https://www.facebook.com/cayfilm

They plan to have several prizes for “liking their page” so might as well give it a try.

***4. ANNOUNCING THE 14TH ANNUAL LAS VEGAS SUPERMEET.

Going to NAB SHOW in April? Well then, of course you want to go to the SuperMeet. And have we got a Super SuperMeet for you.

This year we will be holding it once again at the Riviera Hotel inside the lovely Royale Ballroom on Tuesday, April 14 2015. Which means you can WALK to the SuperMeet from the LVCC. No shuttles, no taxis, just your feet. It’s about a 10 minute walk sober.

Earlybird tickets are on sale NOW 10 for the low price of $10.00 each plus ticket fee. This deal ends Wednesday, March 11 where the price will go up to $15.00. It will be $20.00 at the door assuming any tickets are still available.

The agenda is SuperSecret, but SuperMeets are not about what and who is on stage. They are about you. This is the biggest event of the year for digital content creators and you will meet people from all over the world. And once again I say, you just might meet that one person who will change your life. But you got to get out of the house in order to do it.

Remember to mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 14 and get your tickets now as it helps us plan.
Also spread the word. We have no marketing budget and rely on each other to get the word out.

See you at the SuperMeet on April 14. It is going to be so much fun!
