***4. 14TH ANNUAL LAS VEGAS SUPERMEET WRAP-UP.
The 14th Annual Las Vegas SuperMeet is now part of history and it was so much fun and oh my what a HUGE crowd! Thanks to all who made the short walk to the Riviera Hotel for the last time in it’s history. So sorry to see you go Riv. You served us well. Can’t wait for the 2016 Las Vegas SuperMeet.
About 1400 people showed up to watch an array of excellent presentations on stage and mingle with each other and with 28 companies supporting the SuperMeet.
We had some really fun presentations from some very talented folks.
Alexis Van Hurkman wowed us and I mean word us with the new features in DaVinci Resolve 12. Lets face it, this thing is a full fledged editor now.
Bob Bronow and Matt Hines showed off the incredible power of iZotope’s RX 4 audio repair tool. It just keeps getting better and better.
HP’s Jeff Wood and Brain Farm’s Danny Holland talked about the
speed and longevity of the wicked powerful HP Workstations. Danny also showed off some footage from Brain Farm. Wow! To see it on a 32ft screen was breathtaking.
Ripple Training’s Steve Martin and Mark Spencer showed off some of the new features in FCP X 10.2. The response was VERY positive let me tell you. Steve and Mark also brought up FOCUS editor Jan Kovac for a few questions and a bow.
Al Mooney, who is always always entertaining, gave us look at just some of the new features in Adobe Premiere Pro. Got to love Morph Cut.
Filmmaker Cirina Catania and OWC’s Larry O’Connor inspired and empowered us. Yeah, I really did feel awesome after this.
Finally Jeff Greenberg returned to the Supermeet stage on behalf of Genarts. Jeff showed off the new Sapphire set of Plugins and as usual wowed us.
Just a great show and a great time.
Oh yeah, and then we handed out over $114,000 worth of valuable prizes to dozens of lucky winners as part of the World Famous Raffle. It was nuts!
So many people to thank and I know I will forget some, but what the heck, let’s try.
Thank you everyone who attended! You were so much fun and so kind.
There were a lot of people who helped us promote this event and you know who you are. Thank you!
Big time thanks must go to Blackmagic Design, Adobe, OWC, HP/Nvidia, Ripple Training, iZotope and Genarts for their generous financial and technical support. Without them we would have been forced to hold this event under a tent in a parking lot.
We had 28 other sponsors and they all need a mention and a big hug. Each of them were crucial to the success of this event.
Atomos, Audio Network, B&H, CoreMelt, Digital Anarchy, EditStock, Future Media Concepts, FXFactory, HDDISK, Red Giant, Ripple Training, Shutterstock, ASMP, Boris FX, Color Grading Central, Imagineer, G-Tech, HighPoint, Pond5, Quvis, RE:Vision Effects, THAT Studio, and Wipster. Thank you all!
Thank you Chris Eschweiler for your council and hard work on our behalf.
Thank you Dean Cleary for taking pictures.
Thanks Bill Davis for being the voice of God and helping to pull raffle tickets.
Thanks to all of the generous volunteers who worked so hard getting everyone through the doors, and anything else we needed. Trevor Horton, Katie Berube, Jeff Stansfield, Ned Soltz, Deb Eschweiler, Rebecca Armstrong and the amazing Gregory Clarke. And I know I am forgetting others and please forgive me. You were all wonderful and this show would not have happened without your help.
Thanks again to you all for supporting this event. We all are privileged to have front row seats and look forward to many more years of SuperMeets all around the world.
