Smoothing keyframe motions

Can someone help me with a simple 3 keyframe move?
My first frame is a still picture coming from below center in infinity
(not seen yet), second is almost full frame positioned slightly
above center, third keyframe is much larger out of screen below
us, as if it were moving under us. Question is - I cannot find how to
make the second keyframe a smooth transition. Right now, it's
like a hard angle - is there the equivalent to the "smooth"
as opposed to "linear" DVE move?

Right click or control click on the point in the canvas in wireframe mode and choose 'linear'. This will smooth off the keyframe and give you bezier handles to adjust the curve with.

If you view the keyframes and path in the canvas, you can right-click (CTL+click) on the center keyframe and choose Ease In/Ease Out from the contextual menu. The handles will then show up and you can smooth it out from there.

Use the purple dots called "velocity handles" on the beziers for more control over acceleration.
