Canon XL2 and LaCie HD

So, I've just connected my LaCie HD to my G4 via Firewire and my camera is connected to my G4 via Firewire, and now when my computer attempts to
read the camera, the pinwheel just keeps turning.

Any ideas? If it's something really simple, which it usually is, my head already hangs in shame.

Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks, all!

What happens if you unplug the LaCie? Is all well?

What happens if you unplug the camcorder? Is the drive OK? Does it pass INFO and can you copy files on and off?

Not everybody can make two FireWire devices work at the same time.

I have a 2.5GHZ G5, FCP4.5 and...

2 1.6TB Lacie BigDisks, RAIDed 0 connected via onboard FW800, and an XL2....

When I plug y XL2 in, the machine freaks. FCP won't see the camera, and the LAcie drives become unresponcive - even system profiler turns up "not data available" with the camera plugged in...

Anyody else have this problem?
Anybdy have a single bus solution?

Try capturing using Firewire BASIC as your protocol
