Hey guys,

I'm a long time member, currently working in Europe on an indie drama production. I've been checking out the Sin City website (they release films later over here than back home), and my producer is keen to know what programs they used to create that comic book feel to the visuals. I'm presuming they used After Effects to some extent, but if anyone else knows of what specific packages they used to recreate those visuals, I'd love to hear from you. Take it easy guys,

Dan

From what I remember, it was done with lightwave and after effects on a huge AMD Opteron farm.

Dan, there were many picture subtleties that contributed to general mood of the film. If you are referring to the colour grade, it was shot on HD which lent itself to the hard BW images (no midtone) much better than film.
It was shot entirely in a greenscreen studio and composited at a guess on Flame/Inferno.
