FCPHD to SD DV

I recenlty shot a project in HD using the Sony FX-1. I then bumped the HD footage down to SD digital footage and will be editing in FCPHD. All footage that I import into the timeline now has a pale orange line and has to be rendered otherwise the footage is soft focus on the screen.

Is this normal or not?

I am using a G-4, FCPHD with max memory and plenty of storage.

Thanks for your input.

When you "bumped it down" as you say, what were the settings you used? Did you use the Media Manager? What was your method? Which presets did you use?

It was straight from the FX-1 to the Mini-DV deck. One to one transer.

DV footage should not require rendering. This has nothing to do with how you bumped HD footage to DV if it was a straight transfer from FX-1 camera to DV deck. Check the settings on your timeline.
