FCP 5 JPG import very soft URGENT

Sorry about the urgent but I have a deadline.

I have being using FCP since version 2 and I remember having this problem with I think it was FCP3. With 4.5 I wasn't even even adjusting for the square or stretch pixels and was getting sharp pictures. I just installed FCP 5 'cause all I have to do is a slide show to be put on a DVD and I go on my vacation.
Has anyone else had this happen to them and if so, How did you fixed the problem?

I found a fix for it. In the sequense setting set the video motion to fasttest instead of best. GO FIGURE THIS ONE.
