I don't get dynamic RT

So I tried out dynamic RT with composite modes. RT set to Dynamic on both quality and frame rate. I dropped frames right away as soon as the playhead hit the clips with composite modes.

I unchecked the report warning on drop frames on playback box and it did indeed play through. Is that how it's supposed to work? I have to hide the drop frame warning for Dynamic to work???

I'm on 10.4.1, FCP 5, QT 7.0.1, G5 dual 2ghz, 1.5gb RAM. Media is DV NTSC, 2 clips with various blend modes, played back from a second SATA drive.

Any one know what I mean?

Well..I'm not sure. Dynamic will behave nicely if you have an array. You can get a whole bunch of streams going. Nick Meyers tested it out on a single drive and got 6-7 streams I believe before he got a drop frame. Me thinks something may be wrong here but if turning off the warning helps then so be it.
