fcx issues-help me troubleshoot

i was helping out a client with final cut express issues and we didn't make much progress, so i'm looking for some direction. he has footage that he shot on his canon optura 200. when trying to capture, he gets timecode break errors or an error saying "this operation could not be completed as there is no video." so i tried capturig from his camera to one of my work machines that have fcp 4.5 installed and i didn't get any errors. we went back to his machine, ran disk utility, mac janitor, trashed the prefernces and restarted his machine. still the same problems occurred.

his machine-power book g4 with 10.4 and fcx 2.0.3. capturing to a external fw 800 drive. both drives have plenty of room.

my work machine. dual 1.8 g5 fcp 4.5, 10.3.9. capture to the startup disk (i've complained about there being no media drive, but budget deadlines are to blame).

i'm leaning towards blaming it on tiger. is there anything else i can do to help? or should i just get him to reinstall panther?

Most likely a QT issue

Have him try this
