I'm working in v5 and working with Title 3d and uncompressed pict files are giving me what's looking like aliasing around the edges. I tried everything to do with the sequence setting to no avail. Any ideas??

Did you means a little tiny black edge around that object ? If yes, try to switch the alpha mode of the selected object to "black".

Control click> Format > Item properties > Alpha > .... "black"
(that is for v4, I guess, v5 are the same)
