analog video capture devices

Hiya,

I'm trying to pick a box or card for capturing composite and s-video analog video (and RCA audio). Component would be great, but I'm not looking to spend more than a few hundred dollars.

I've been looking at the Canopus ADVC 110, as well as the ADVC50 PCI card.

Does anybody have any experience with these devices? Can you recommend one, or some other device forf a similar price?

Thanks!

Was that the 110? Is there a compelling reason to buy that, rather than the 55?

Also, has anybody tried the 50 on a mac with FCP?

Okay, yeah. I looked at that, too.

What model did you buy? The 110?

Thanks!

And, wait, do you have to buy a separate power supply? What is that "4-pin IEEE 1394 connector requires a power adapter (sold separately)."

The canopus does a great job. I've had a ADVC 100 for a few years and it works flawlessly.
