Does anyone know if there is a DTE device out (or soon to be out) that captures HDV? Has anyone had experience with DTE's (HDV or DV)? Any links good links or advice would be appreciated.

I'm sorry. "Direct To Edit" Hard Drive. I believe the techonology has been available for a year or so now. I just learned about it myself a few months ago. But it is basically like an iPod you connect to your camera and it records your ftg digitally (you can also do a simalcast to tape). I've seen it available for DV camcorders (like the XL2) but I wasn't sure if it worked (or was available) for an HDV camera like the XL H1 or JVC. Here's some more info about the DTE if anyelse is interested.

the Panasonic HVX 200 will propose that in Dvc HD Pro

the cards are expensive tought but the codec is WAY better to work with, if you believe the people around here (but the cam it's still to be released)
