hi there.
I Need to screen our movie projected and i'm wondering if there would be a noticeable difference in quality in an output from FCP to dvcam vs. digibeta?

any info would be great.

Hi Julia.

First of all the output will depend on the quality of your movie footage. Digibeta is the standart not only in picture quality but also in mechanical terms and archive, that's why the major networks only broadcast in that format and another issue is the projection? will it be in a good room and the resolution of the projector is acceptable? In middle terms no problems with DVCAM but i would go for DIGITAL BETACAM.

What he said. But if your footage is DVCAM, then outputting to digibeta gets you nothing. Can't improve the DVCAM signal. But if your sequence is built around film footage captured uncompressed, or captured at Digibeta quality, then digibeta would be your best bet.
