FCP/Compressor PAL Quicktime Erros etc

Or To upgrade or not to Upgrade.

The specs for my system are:

G5 Dual 2.5
OS X 10.4.3
FCP 4.5
Compressor 1.2.1
Quicktime Pro 7

My question is: have the PAL issues in Compressor been fixed?

My project is in PAL. I am making window dubs (that i hope to use on a new video iPod!) of my documentary footage. It's going to be about 35+ hours.

I am logging the tapes and am almost done. I want to batch the files and not sit there and do them 1 by 1 with Quicktime Conversion.

Whenever I use Compressor, the files are out of sync or I get a Quicktime Error on certain settings.

When I use straight-up Quicktime Conversion. No errors, in sync.

I am using MPEG-4 for the window dubs because I want them small, readable and to put them on a DVD or on my lap to etc.

I know there are issues with Compressor and whenver I use it, there are problems: failures, sync blah blah.

If I upgrade to Final Cut Pro 5 with Compressor 2 will these issues be resolved.
