FCP 5.0 and Sony A1U

I recently purchased a Sony A1U and have been cutting with FCP 5.0, but have come across a few 'common' problems that include; low light and camera set-up.

Is there anyone who has some 'best practices' for working with the A1U in either production or post. My viz is quite crappy compared to the other cameras I have been blessed with using (i.e. Panny 100AP).

Any help would be appreciated!
