Sequence Settings not working....

Hi Gang,

I'm working on Final Cut 5, on a powerbook G4, and have come across a problem with my project. The footage I'll be using to cut is a different frame size and frame rate than the default sequence settings. It's 720x404 and 23.98fps, DV/DCPRO compression, square pixels, Audio Format 16 bit interger on clip and 32 bit floating point on sequence. I figured out how to change the sequence settings to match my clip settings (except for the audio) but when I cut the clip into the timeline I still have to render. And I don't think it's the audio becuase if i cut in the audio only, I don't have to render. Is there a setting that I'm missing? Has anyone had the same problem? And how do you fix this?

It might be the frame rate. Your clips might still be at 29.97fps requiring pulldown removal. Cross-check all clip settings (APPLE-9) with Sequence Settings (APPLE-0). Something must still be off.
