Spiraling text

Hi guys n gals,
I would like to have a line of text slowly descend and rotate in a spiraling corkscrew fashion and then stop. Can I do this in FCP or is it a motion exercise? ... which I don't have yet.

Could try LiveType's arsenal of text-motion options. It should have come with your Final Cut package.

either motion or after effects. i think the panopticum line of AE plugins may have something like that. i think the zaxwerks stuff that comes with AE might do it...

though, as a typography purist i do have to ask why youd ever want to abuse a line of type in this manner ; )

So there is no way to introduce a "z" coordinate to our trusty little key frame buttons?

Okay, lets say I have Motion, which I will next month via the universal upgrade. Motion will be able to do this won't it?

There is no z space in Motion.
