reconnecting oddities

I´ve got 6 offline timelines (miniDV) and was in the process of doing an online when things started getting odd.

I made copies of my timelines.
Made the material offline (leave material on disk) in the copies of my timelines.
Went off and proceeded with the online.

A day later I opened my now old offline timelines.
Hey presto some clips were suddenly offline.

No problem I thought I´ll just reconnect those guys.

If I highlight a clip for reconnection I get the reconnect dialogue box.

Problem is that the clip or clips are not listed in the files to reconnect box.
It´s empty........

I just have the name of the hard drive and nothing else.
Oh yes and I have a tiny little vertical blue line that looks like a cursor, just a bit fatter!

I even tried doing this blind clicking vainly on search but to no avail!

Any ideas.

I´ve got about 30 clips and would really like to be able to reconnect them!

have trashed preferences!
thanks

Did you re-start your Mac and try again? Also, look in your scratch drive to make sure the clips are really there and have not vanished.

Hi Mike

I restarted. Still gone.

Also did a couple of searches in the finder and I believe that the clips are gone.

The only thing that I can think of is the Black Magic card. Forgot to mention this. It´s the basic HD card.

Can´t remember exactly how it was but I did capture using alternatively DV Pal and Blackmagic Pal. I have lots of suspicious looking files with either av or v at the end.

Just went to get the online done now!

any thoughts?

I honestly don't know what is going on . Seeing a lot of disappearing files oddities in FCP 5. I'm afraid you are forced to re digitize
