Timeline footage playsback strobed.

Hello...There are 2 FCP laptops in our studio. A problem has cropped up on one of them and we cannot figure out what is happening. Here is the 2-fold problem:

No matter what project is open, the video clips, when on the timeline or in the canvas windows, playback in a strobed manner. If a project is burned to a DVD the strobe effect is not present. If a project is fire wired out to a DV deck the footage is strobed. None of this occurs on the other laptop. We suspect something was inadvertantly "clicked' or selected, but can't figure it out. All video/audio settings have been compared between the 2 laptops and everything appears the same. Any ideas as to what is causing the strobing effect? Or, is the laptop just haunted? Ha!

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Is your video in the Canvas/Viewer window(s) set to "Fit to window"? If it's larger than the window area it will cause strobing. Might be it?

I will check into this. Thank you. Thom Sullivan
Subtle strobing still present. We just might have to live with it. Thanks. Thom Sullivan
