Scratch insert video with iSight?

Posted by Loren Miller
I've been noodling with my iSight video mode-- yes, it shows up in the Log and Capture window, but I can't get the action to capture, no matter what I set the Device Preset to. Has anyone done this? is there a formula?

Would be very handy for rough inserts...

H.323 is the video standard for "generic" video conferencing. Apple decided to use a little wacky variation on this which is why you can't call a Windows NetMeeting session or any standard Polycom system.

It's not real video. It's a bitstream that can change and morph depending on the transmission conditions and the equipment at either end. It's possible to have different framerates at the beginning and the end of a transmission, as well as (in our case) PAL on one side and NTSC on the other side of the same conference.

But the base for it all is H.323.
