does anyone know anything about 3gp files? its what most cell phone carriers are using for video and music. is there a way to convert it w/o having to buy a full version of quicktime and import it into fcp?

thanks,
daniel

Any exporting's gonna involve a QT Pro Function. I think some phones take H.264 nowadays as welll.

Quicktime Pro is really not that expensive for what it does. And it has a nice simple 3g export ready to go. Not worth the hassle of workarounds, IMHO.

Agree. QT-Pro is just too handy not to have it on all your machines.

Compressor has some cool 3GPP presets. Check 'em out.

3GPP for EDGE network streaming
3GPP for GRPS network streaming
3GPP for download over GSM networks
3GPP for UMTS networks streaming
3GPP2 for download over CDMA networks
