Audio Question

Audio Question

Please forgive me if this is a really dumb question.
I have a sequence in FCP HD that I have just started working on. I laid down a good assembly and now I am fine tuning (L-cuts, temp. music, etc.). Whenever I overlap audio of any kind (temp music, audio from another clip) I get a red render line above the overlap (and when I play it it beeps through). I've been rendering each time, but I have a hunch I'm doing something wrong...settings are wrong.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mimi

If your computer can handle it, increase the number of Real Time Mix tracks under User Preferences.

However, also make sure the audio files you are adding match the settings of your sequence in sample rate, bit rate and formatting.

This may seem obvious, but the audio formats need to match each other as well as the4 sequence. Early on I would pull in audio from iTunes and never understand the red line. Those files were MP3 files and the setting for the sequence was 48.1 khlz.

Red line and beeping.

Just a suggestion fro more clarity.
