AUDIO PROBLEMS!

Hi all...
I have a fellow editor in LA working on a project we shot here in Toronto...
DVCPRO 50, captured with panasonic AJ 93 deck via firewire.

He is on FCP 4.5 working on a 1 Ghz laptop 1 GB RAM - G-raid 320GB with Lacie FW 800 cardbus adapter.

On my machine in Toronto - FCP 5.0.1 2Ghz Dual G5 - G-raid (separate bus),
the project opens up and the audio levels, albiet a bit thin- are workable and average around the 30db level....
on a mirrored project - his same clip is almost undiscernable audio at around 90db....
what gives???
I am sure our project settings are the same - it was set up that way...

He opens up the quicktime files and hears them alright - but on impoert into FCP the levels go to the bottom. I dont get it. Anyone with ideas or solutions preferably.
Thanks in advance..
j

Both of you should check your Audio Mixer levels. Those can implement volume changes outside of the clips' levels as visible with Keyframe Overlays.
