I have a vcd.mov file that plays fine in Quicktime but no audio is imported when brought into final cut pro. Is there a way to get the audio in?

Sounds like it is an MPEG-2 file. YOu will need MPEG STREAMCLIP to demux the audio from the video.

To me it sounds like an MPEG1 file and you'll still need MPEG Streamclip to demultiplex it for import.
