Exports/Batch monitor take forever?

Hi all! Maybe someone can spot an easy answer to this for me and tell me I am doing something wrong I hope. I am exporting a 5 minute NTSC SD promo piece in FCP via batch monitor and it takes 3-4 hours just to output an mpeg4 DVD file and audio file. Is this normal? Can it be so slow? And then when I bring it into DVD pro it takes another few hours just to burn the simplest of DVD's.

It seems to act as if I was burning a feature and its only a 5 min promo piece. I've got a powerbook G4 with 2 terrabyte storage, and 2 gig ram.

Just read the article on the LAFCPUG home page "Exporting Project Files for DVDby Larry Jordan"

Apparently FCP5 and Compressor dont work well together and this article explains why I've had problems. Thanks again LAFCPUG!
