HD playback on G4 -- Too Big?
June 02, 2006 01:51PM
I am crteating a series of short HD sequences and saving to disk -- renders fine, but cannot play back -- or playback stutters and quits. I am guessing this is because the file is too big for the machine to keep up with -- but wondering how I can check my work without a faster machine.

Working on a G4 dual 1gb, FCPHD 4.5.

What KIND of HD? How did you get it into your computer?

Are you aware of the disk bandwidth requirements for uncompressed HD?

Your system can not support the bandwidth speeds for HD because of the 33 MHz PCI slot speeds.

You can probably step though to see individual frames. For motion you will have to render a check movie at lower resolution.
