Rendering problem with multiple sequences

Hi everybody. I'm using final cut pro 5. I can drag clips into one sequence without having to render them. But if I add an additional sequence and try to add clips to it, I will get the red render line. This happens in all of my hd projects in final cut 5. I've tried trashing the FCP studio p list, didn't change anything. Anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

Just because your first sequence has the right settings doesn't mean your second sequence will. That depends on your Sequence Presets. Check your Audio/Video Settings - Sequence Presets. To change the settings on the second sequence, select it and press APPLE-0. Another way to do this is by copying and pasting your first sequence, then renaming the copy; the copy will have the same settings as your first one.
