Format conversion

Hi there everyone,

I need to convert 100's of Quicktimes which are all 720x405 24fps to 720X486 ( we want to add the black bars so it fits to 486)

Compressor doesnt seem to do the trick as all it does is pixel stretch the movie to fit. After Effects i guess would do it but we are looking for an automated batch process rather than a very time consuming movie by movie process.

Yes i can put them all into an FCP timeline however ifmedia manage them all i get the same pixel stretch?

any ideas?

try creating a sequence where the settings reflect 720x486

Put a Slug on V1 and cut your QT onto V2...it should center up.

Try exporting it and re-opening into a Quicktime player to check it...Get Info should reveal it to be 720x486

What's the slug for? A slug on V1 would just show up as black -- no use at all.

right you are...forget V1

thanks for your thoughts however I think your missing my point.

Yes i can of course put the 405 movie into a 486 timeline and it adds the black. That's not my problem.

My problem is, how do "add the black to make it a 486 format QT" to literally hundreds of Quicktimes as a batch as opposed by doing them one by one?
