Capturing HD issues with OSX4.7

This just started happening since I upgraded to OSX 4.7.
When I'm capturing Video off my Sony HVR-AIJ HD camera, FCP-5.0.4 wants to break up the clip when I batch capture. For instance I'll capture Joe'sBirthday1 and it ends up as Joe'sBirthday1-1, Joe'sBirthday1-2, and etc.
This never happened before.
Does anyone have any thoughts??
Thanks, Moe.

Did you change data/media drives, too?

That is the kind of thing that happens when you're trying to capture to a drive that tops out at a 2G file limit. Check your drives are all formatted Mac OSX Extended and Not MS DOS Plus or anything like that.

You have timecode breaks on the tape that FCP 5 breaks into different clips.

Nothing to do with 10.4.7, that I know of?

How big are those files? If they're all 2 GB, then Koz has nailed it. If their sizes are much more random, then John may have the answer.

There are some big files, yes some over 2 GB but not all, one thing I noticed is that on the last 2 that I imported I added handles and for some reason I did not get the splits.
This is all fresh tape with no time code splits or even a spot were I had paused the tape. but I adding handles seemed to fix it?? I hope, any other thoughts?
Thanks for all the groups help. Moe.
