Apple 23" LCD vs. Dell 2405 LCD

I've read a number of items extolling the virtues, mostly monetary, of the Dell 2405 over the Apple 23". The price difference is $500. Anyone have an opinion? I'm using FCP to edit a doc in HD with a Sony Z1.

search the forum for "dell monitor" - youll see that most folk here swear by the dell.

There are more than A LOT of opinions here. Do a forum search. I am a lifelong Apple Monitor guy (since 1996) that just converted to the Dell 24".

i wouldn't like to think of myself as being "cool", but i bought the dell 24"er last month and it is superb.
i found a great deal on ebay to "buy it now", but phoned dell and asked them to match the price, which was 25% of their list price, and they did just that.
check out other fcp forums like dvcreators and creative cow etc and get a general consensus

OK. I get it. Most of the "cool" kids like Dell. I'd just like to add that we have plenty of the apple cinema displays (23" winking smiley

and they've been working as promised for the past two years.

They don't cut class, drink whiskey, or run with the wrong crowd. They just work!

Whoa! I'm thinking there's a small, but huge, typo here. Did you mean"
25% OF their list price
or
25% OFF their list price?

The first one means you paid 1/4 of list price, which is way too good to be true.
The other one means you paid 3/4 of list, which ain't bad and is more believeable.

I'm cool too! Man, everyone walks past my office and freaks through to see this gigantic PC monitor next to my cooler looking Apple 20" old-school cinema display. Dell is da bomb!
