Reset scratch disc

Every time I boot up I am asked to reset my scratch disc. The drive is internal, so it's not like I'm disconnecting anything. This issue came up recently, previously it was seeing the drive and booting up fine. Did someone change a setting?

Did you lock your preferences? That will prevent your Scratch Disk settings from being retained from launch to launch.

I can't seem to find that preference setting....?

Well, if you don't know where it is, then you didn't lock them. Anybody else using that station? The Scratch Disk setting doesn't get saved with the project file; it's just part of the application. If another user uses your station and resets the Scratch Disk (most likely to an external), you'll have to set it for yourself.

The other option is scarier: Maybe your disk is dying. Check all drives connected to the system and make sure none of them has less than 10 per cent free space left.
