HVX mic questions...

ok, whats the group consensus on the built in mic on the HVX? is it worth a crap at all, or should i go straight out and get a good external shotgun?

i was always really pleased with the stock mic on my XL2, and only used externals for lav or higher end shoots.

maybe a dumb question, i just havent had time to really test the camera out yet...

On-camera mic's usually suck. They're only good for a sync reference. Most of them are stereo only which is virtually useless for live recording. There's a big hole in the center of the sound. Get a shotgun mic.
