HDV Video Segmented

I have tried to digitize interviews. They are broken down into segments.
I have tried to mark ins and out as well as recording the entire sequence.
It doesnt make sense because the breaks are at different points of the interview and the time code is stable. Does anyone have a fix or work around for this issue. I have heard that it has to do with I frames.

HDV automatically breaks into clips when you button off on the camera in FCP by default. I think in later versions you can choose to turn this off in the capture window. Turn off 'make new clip at stop-start', but I've not used it myself.

I understand that but this is happening during interviews while the
camera never stopped rolling.
