Transition alignment

Woking on latest edition/update for FCP -

Recently, When I throw in a cross fade and try to adjust to center on edit, start on edit, end on edit, I cannot get it to work. When I hit the check mark for a specific choice, nothing happens.

you probably dont have handles on the clips.

trim some frames around the edit, and try again.

Sure *both* clips have enough handles? To have a Start on Edit transition, the outgoing clip must have enough handles for the entire duration of the transition. To have an End of Edit transition, the incoming clip must have handles equal to the entire transition duration.

Also check to make sure the two clips are flush against each other. A blank frame will obviously prevent you from doing anything with the transition.
