P2 driver (intel mac)Posted by James T
hey guys,
Does anyone know where to get a copy of the p2 driver for the intel mac. The one from panasonic states that it does not work with the MacBook Pros. (it doesn't) I really do not want to purchase any loging software (HDlog, P2log, P2genie) if i can just use FCP. there has to be one somwhere. thanks again J If at first you don't succeed, keep ****ing it up 'till it works!
I was under the same impression...
I'm capturing strait from camera (firewire) to MacBook Pro. Camera setting for PCmode Set to 1394 Host. When I hold down the Vtr/camera button (little black circle) the camera initializes the transfer. The screen turns blue, holds text: 1394 host. nothing happens.... no disk image appears on desktop. I have done this a hundred times with the PowerBook's, works fine.( w/ required driver) I have opened FCP 5.1.2, File, import, p2. tried to find the disk image from there, but nothing. Maybe i am missing a step with 5.1.2. This might be something (first time i have noticed this): after about 10-15sec of the 1394 host blue screen the screen turns to a black version of the thumbnail views (no images, just black thumbnails) with the menu open to the verify page.? (checked yes) I hope this can draw a conclusion. thanks again, J If at first you don't succeed, keep ****ing it up 'till it works!
I'd love to be able to help here, but this seems like an issue with the Intel machine and the P2 driver. I don't have an Intel machine, so I can't say what is happening for sure.
I don't know if there is an issue with the driver not working on Intel macs, but here are the download sites that I know of for the p2 cards: [eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp] and you can try my tutorial: [forums.creativecow.net] www.shanerosseditor.com Listen to THE EDIT BAY Podcast on iTunes [itunes.apple.com]
