Hello users. Looking for comments on upgrading G5, using OS 10.4.8, FCP 5.
Completed feature length film, 105.5 min., final edits in progress, before authoring and mastering
for DVD. Premiered on DVcam tape, all went well.

I want to increase my external HD storage, now using 4 LaCie 250GB HD. All Full.
So far, so good, no crashes. Add any additional hardware to my Mac? And which 1TB external
hard drive has worked best for those more experienced? Some recommend ProMax. I'm looking for your proven experiences. Much appreciated.

Thanks,
Laurie Richards

there is not really any hardware that is going to make your life easier (considering that youve already captured everything, capture cards arent in need) if youre doing after effects or motion. more ram and a firebreathing video card will help. but for general editing, theres really nothing from an "upgrade" perspective thats going to add much if any workflow advantage.

do you have a good ntsc reference monitor for color correction?
do you have good audio monitoring?

ive been using various promax firewire drives for years and all of them are still running happilly, but i recently bought a caldigit svrduo raid+esata card for $520 and that bad boy BLAZES! been throwing all kinds of dvcproHD stuff at it and it just laughs and says "gimme more!"
