Anyone know how to convert .m2t files for editing in FCP?

Hello,
We have HD footage shot at 30p with the Canon XL H1. It captured in Vegas in .m2t format and now we want to edit on FCP 5.1.2. We've tried various conversion methods in Mpeg Streamclip and then FCP project/sequence settings. We managed one conversion to quicktime, with Apple HD 1080 24f I believe it was (not in front of me right now.) That worked but would probably take longer than forever to convert all of it that way.

Any other suggestions? Should we just give up on this footage and capture it again directly into FCP?
Thanks very much for any help - this is awfully frustrating.

Well its faster export an EDL out of Vegas and re-capture but not sure Vegas does that. You might try HDVxDV. That might work but not sure.

I had the best luck exporting out of Vegas into Final Cut using mjpeg A Quicktime. Vegas does excellent 30p/60i to 24P conversions.
